A lot has happened over the last few years.
Thank you so much for supporting me, my music and the journey so far. I really do appreciate every little gesture, words of encouragement, practical support and much more that words cannot express. I am thrilled to have recently launched my new website and I want to share with you some of its new features as well as let you know how I been in the last 18 months of Covid-19. The highs & lows….
The Highs….
Some highlight from the last couple of years have been the much-needed rest I’ve enjoyed, a fresh focus on writing more, brushing up on a new language (French … oui, j’adoreapprendrele Français) and picking up a new instrument to learn (Contra bass and a bit of Keys). It was a struggle at first because of the restrictions for singing but later turned into so much joy to be able to sing with our Community Choir and also go into studio to record my EP album. My love for music has come back to me in leaps and bounds. I even surprised myself by going to the EdFringeFestival in Scotland, to perform this Year and each day I spent there really boosted my confidence.
And the lows…
Some sad moments have been from the loss of so many dear friends and family. As the news kept coming in (one after the other of people I knew so closely) it felt like being in a bad dream and the only thing that has kept me sane has been my Faith in Jesus and God’s promises. I wrote my EP Mama’s Dreams during these times and one of the songs I wrote called Intentional made me think not to waste a single second of my life pondering over regrets but to seize every opportunity to make new pleasing memories. I have to keep reminding myself everyday.
Song and a half…
I felt a strong need to reach out to the Company that has helped with the building of my new Website because I needed to start doing things differently. Not to change who I am but to promote what I do more and engage even more with others. There is a song and a half inside of every person and an empty glass for it to be poured into. Often times there is an overflow that pours down the side of the glass on to the table and drips to the floor –whoops, don’t want to create a mess but you get the gist. It’s the overflow that others enjoy from us if we allow ourselves to be poured.
New Website….
The new website captures my song and a half and a bit more; it shows off my mood and style, a hint of my quirkiness and my love to express in words. New to the site is the Café where I like to chill and tell my stories. I hope to visit people in real Cafes over the next few months in the New Year as part of the launch and set up a virtual Café where you are most welcome to join me for a chat.
